Her father was born 10 Dec 1887 and her mother was born 24 Oct 1890, both in Clayton Co. They were married 22 Feb 1916. Gertrude’s brothers and sisters were Vernon, Donald, Eunice and Bernadine. Keith and Gertrude were married 6 Aug 1954 at Postville, IA. They had five children Jacob, John, Jacqueline, Jeffrey and Jens. Jacob the oldest son of Keith and Gertrude was born at Decorah, IA. He went to high school at MFL at Monona, IA and graduated from Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, TX. He married Carol Mayer 10 Jul 1981. Their children are: Joshua, Josiah and Anna. Jacob is Principal and Administrator of Lifegate School near Seguin. Carol is an RN and works at the Guadalupe Hospital in Seguin. John graduated from MFL High School at Monona. He farms near Monona, IA. Jacqueline, Keith and Gertrude’s only daughter, was born at Decorah. She graduated from MFL High School, Monona and University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA, and received her MBA at Southwest Texas State at San Marcos, TX. She is a CPA and is working for Magid Assoc, at Monticello, IA. Jeffrey was born at Decorah. He graduated from MFL High School. Jeffrey owned a Health Club in Seguin. He has moved back to Iowa to farm. Jens was born at LaCrosse, Wl. Jens was born ten years after Jeffrey. (A big surprise but a happy event for the whole family). Jens graduated from MFL High School at Monona and Luther College at Decorah. He is assistant Manager at Sherwin Williams at Oskaloosa, IA. Keith spent his first years living on the Otto Lee farm in Frankville Twp. between Frankville and Ossian. When he was in third grade his family moved to the Helmer Orvella farm located in Springfield Twp. and two and one half years later Keith’s family moved to a farm located two miles east of the Decorah Airport on Highway #9. Keith lived there until he and his wife bought a farm near Monona in 1964. Keith attended Decorah High School. When he was a sophmore he was secretary of his class. When he was a Senior he was vice-president of his class. While in high school he lettered four years in baseball. L-15 See the associated scan to compare with the published information. |
